This year, the 15th edition of Medias medieval citadel will be held between the 19th to 21st of July in Mediaş, in a place in the middle of nature at Greweln Inn.

The theme of this year is The Return of Vlad the Impaler. The project is part of Sibiu 2019 – European Gastronomic Region and proposes both spectators’ acquaintance with interactive activities, with gourmet workshops, and acquiring knowledge of local history. Vlad the Impaler, is a significant figure of history, which was present in Medias in the summer of July 27th – August 1st, 1476. From the order of Matia Corvin the gathering of the Hungarian – Transylvanian troops was made in Medias, Stefan Bathory and Vlad the Impaler were captains of these troops. At the end of the action, Vlad the Impaler gets the throne of Wallachia for the third time.

The event’s schedule will be a diverse one and will include theater, medieval music, exhibitions, gastronomy workshops, demonstrations of knight orders, and street animation.
